ECDRIVE - Applications and Files Manager
This part of user manual describes the features of ECDrive, an integrated environment for browsing ECPlus applications and managing user files. For premium users, ECDrive allows to upload, download and share files with other users.
This section also explains the general use of ECPlus applications which are developed in Wizard style for facilitating easy and quick acquaintance.
Prerequisites: The user is expected to have a basic understanding of a web browser and its functions.
Following sections are presented with descriptions of ECDrive functions and it is strongly recommended to get familiarized with the features designed to enhance productivity.Demo Video
Overview
When the user is logged into ecplusdesign.com, the user is redirected to the ECDrive page as shown below where the user can open calculation applications and manage the files.
1. Click this to view and edit user profile
2. Select the national standard such as British, European and American or All Standards. The display of applications is filtered by this selection.
3. The display of applications is further categorized as Foundation, Concrete and Steel and so.
4. Click this navigation menu item to display the ECPlus applications (Current View).
5. Click this navigation menu item to display the user files stored in the cloud.
6. Click this navigation menu item to display the applications and files that are recently opened.
7. Click this navigation menu item to display the files shared with you by other users.
8. Click this navigation menu item to display the files trashed (deleted).
9. Click this navigation menu item to display the help - this part of user manual.
Applications
When the navigation menu item Applications (#4 above) is selected, it displays the list of applications categorized under different National Standards and Calculation Types.
Calculation applications are displayed as tiled icons in the main view. Click the application to open and perform calculation.
EC Drive
When the navigation menu item EC Drive (#5 above) is selected, it displays the list of user files and folders.
New Folder Click this to create a new folder.
Upload Click this to upload an external file.
Upload facility not available in Basic Subscription Plan.
Double Click the folder to display the files inside. Double click the file to open the associated calculation application.
Single Click on file(s) or folder(s) brings the additional options as shown below. Right click brings the same options as context menu.
1. Open Click this to open the selected folder or the file (Corresponding application opens)
2. Share to Click this to share the selected file(s) or folder(s) to other users.
3. Rename as Click this to rename the selected file or folder.
4. Make a copy Click this to create copies of selected file(s).
5. Move to Click this to move the selected file(s) to different folder.
6. Delete Click this to delete selected file(s) and folder(s).
7. Download Click this to download the selected file.
Share to and Download not available in Basic Subscription Plan.
Recent
When the navigation menu item Recent (#6 above) is selected, it displays the list of user files and applications that are recently accessed.
Double click the file to open the associated calculation application.
Single Click on the application icon to open the calculation
Shared with me
When the navigation menu item Shared with me (#7 above) is selected, it displays the list of files shared from other users. Unopened files are displayed in 'bold' letters.
Double click the file to open the associated calculation application.
Trash
When the navigation menu item Trash (#8 above) is selected, it displays the list of files that have been deleted.
Right click on the file(s) to restore to the original folder. File from Trash cannot be opened and it must be restored before it can be opened.
Files deleted from Trash cannot be recovered.
Calculation Layout
Whenever the application is opened either directly or by opening the file, calculation page is opened as shown below (Shown as sample).
The functions of various controls (as marked with numbers in the picture above) for using the calculation:
1. Display of calculation title and the associated National Standard.
2. Display of file location in the cloud system. For a new file, it displays 'untitled'.
3. Dropdown menu control for normal file operations such as Open, Save, Saveas and so.
4. Calculation run functions - have two options for Quick Results and Detailed Report. Quick results presents summary results highlighting the critical and the Detailed Report presents printable report with all calculation steps and values. Refer to respective calculation application user manual for sample reports.
5. Navigation menu to guide the users of various input pages. The main input page appears in the panel marked as 7
6. All general settings such as material grade, factors can be given as input in the popup and the key input values are presented in the main view for quick reference.

10. Input navigation controls for various main input pages. The main input page can also be accessed by the Navigation menu(#5).

File must be manually saved for all input changes. No warning is issued for unsaved data.
